                                        Facebook Social Marketing Strategies

                                        While social media is relatively new, the impact that it has had, even up to this point, cannot be ignored.

                                         The opportunities that it creates for businesses are tremendous.

                                        The way that goods and services are thought about, recommended, and exchanged have changed because of social media.  People have always been influenced by others, especially ones they know, but before this type of influence was limited to word of mouth.  Social Media takes word of mouth global and records it digitally, creating social proof. 

                                        It creates a 24/7 opportunity for businesses to create long term relationships with their existing customers, and helps them find new ones as well.  This is done through interaction, which is the key ingredient to social media.  Interaction is a conversation, spoken through a variety of mediums that engage your audience. The days of broadcasting information to a select audience is over.  Your new audience is the world. 

                                        Through social media, great business rise to the top, while bad ones are exposed.  Believe it or not, your business is being talked about already.  The only question is whether you’re going to embrace and participate in that conversation, or sit back and hide.

                                        Think about this… 5 years ago, if I had a great experience at a restaurant, how would I tell people?  I might tell a few of my friends the next time I see them or casually mention it in conversation.  Today, even while I’m at the restaurant, I can simply update my status and share my experience with over 500 friends.
